About the Author
Helen McCarthy has been researching and writing about Japanese animation and popular culture since 1981. She is the author of the Harvey Award winner and Eisner Award nominee "The Art of Osamu Tezuka: God of Manga" and "Hayao Miyazaki: Master of Japanese Animation", and co-author of "The Anime Encyclopedia". Her passion for needle arts, personal creativity and creator rights led to the creation of "Manga Cross-Stitch" with artist Steve Kyte. She also lectures and teaches on anime, manga, costume and crafts.
