A gore-happy "greatest horror hits" party disc, Boogeymen is a funky and somewhat baffling collection of contemporary horror movie madmen for the Scream generation. Seventeen serial killers and homicidal maniacs are represented in brief but complete scenes, from the classic (Psycho's Norman Bates and Michael Myers from Halloween) to the curious (unknown New Zealand thriller The Ugly) to the preposterous (Wishmaster, Leprechaun, and Corbin Bernsen as The Dentist). Skewed for the video-age horror buff, this is a survey for the children of Freddie Krueger and Jason Voorhees who like their thrillers thick with blood and body parts.
