An "original" Transfan's review.5
I've been a fan of the Transformers since their U.S. debut back in 1984, and what has impressed me the most about this Movie Line is the fact the Transformers are going back to their roots.
Robots In Disguise.
Transformers alt modes are now that of real, authentic looking vehicles, something that has not been seen since the early 80's.
Blackout was the first of this line I purchased, and I couldn't be happier.
He's a little difficult to transform at first, but gets easier. For the record, the above pic is wrong, his copter blades fold neatly against his back.
I can't wait for the movie to come out, it's been 23 years, welcome back.

Quality and Build All Transformer Toys Should Have5
I'm 20 years old and even though I never liked TF before, I haven't had this much fun with a toy in years. I bought Blackout after doing quite a bit of research on these new TF toys.

Form Factor/Style/Size:
Blackout looks like the transformers should, robust, detailed, and full, unlike the stick figures of most transformer toys that I've seen. In robot mode, Blackout almost looks like a Japanese samurai (that's a good thing). I also like that Blackout's alt mode (MH 53 PAve Low Military Helicopter) looks so realistic. Just look at a picture of that helicopter and compare it to a picture of the toy, you'll see what I mean. While many complain that he is "small" for a Voyager Class, he makes up with great detail for an 8" tall plastic toy.

Fun Factor/ Playability:
I've had this toy for about 3 days and I'm having more fun with it every day. For example, recently I found a piece on his feet that folded out. I never even knew that piece did something until now! I also spend a lot of time changing his poses. The most fun part of playing with Blackout is trying new poses to make him look cool.

Quality:
Usually the quality of a line of toys declines after several years, but I'm rather impressed by the movie line TF toys. I transform Blackout back and forth about 5 times each day and still no loose parts so far. Paint job is good. Again, detail and accuracy is excellent.

Conclusion:
Overall, Blackout deserves much more credit than he's being given just because he's "small." He is the best TF toy on the market. He'll give you the most bang for your buck. I know it sounds weird for a kid home from college for the summer to say that TF toys have entertained me for hours over the past few days. I can guarantee you'll enjoy Blackout as much as I am enjoying him.

blackout goodbuy4
This toy is pretty awesome, i think its a great add to a collection which is why i buy them. If this is for a younger child they can be complicated and some pieces could break if not careful, but most parts have been made to give under pressure. I feel this toy is a great buy.
